Republic Agency for the Press and Mass Communications chief Irek Minnakhmetov has greeted the print media industry on the trade holiday, Day of Russian Press.
“Dear journalists, publishers and printers!
Accept my most sincere greetings on our trade holiday, Day of Russian Press! This day has long become a trade holiday for all mass media in Russia.
Contemporary reality is impossible to imagine without newspapers, magazines and books. The printed word is trusted and respected. Despite the rapid development of the internet and web-based media, many enjoy the smell and rustling of paper sheets.
Tatarstan’s print media have long been the leader in Russia’s information space, being an example of rapid progress for many regions. Owing to the state support of publishers of publicly valuable literature, newspapers and magazines, the republic’s residents are at all times updated on current affairs taking place in Tatarstan and in other Russian territories.
On this festive day, I thank you for your proficiency, responsibility and devotion.
From the bottom of my heart I wish you and your loved ones success, good health, happiness and well-being,” the message reads.
