The Happy Stories charity foundation has summed up a Glagolica project media coverage competition.
Tatarstan-based publications and TV channels, including Tatar-inform, were awarded. The jury pronounced Tatar-inform agency, Kazan TV and Radio Company, Tatarstan State TV and Radio Company, Kazanskie Vedomosti newspaper, and Respublika Tatarstan newspaper, as mass media providing the best coverage.
The Glagolica children’s literary competition began on 22 April. For six months, schoolchildren in Tatarstan, aged 10 to 17, sent their pieces to project’s official website. In mid September the admission of entries was concluded, with 366 people having signed up for competition. Particularly active were school students in Kazan, and the Almetievsk and Aznakayevo municipal regions.
Twenty four children became finalists in various nominations and were presented certificates and prizes.
Tatar-inform learnt that the Happy Stories foundation planned to hold Glagolica, and some other social projects, next year as well. In the Year of Literature, the foundation deems as building a base for long-term projects aimed to promote reading, to be conducted in partnership with authorities, cultural institutions and charities, as the priority task.
